I worked in communications for ExxonMobil for 20 years. For the majority of my time, I was based at the Fawley refinery with responsibility for community relations.
Prior to this, I served in the Royal Navy for 8 years as an engineering instructor officer.
It was during this time that I became involved in communications, taking on a number of roles including public relations officer for a NATO commander and seeing service in the Gulf War, leading allied media relations in Bahrain.
Since retiring from ExxonMobil in 2017, I have been a trustee with the Countryside Education Trust in Beaulieu and most recently returned to teaching as the Extended Project Coordinator at Arnewood School in New Milton.
In my spare time I enjoy walking with my wife, Paula, and our spaniel in the New Forest and we are members of several walking groups.
